Ken Griffey Jr.
There are a few people in Seattle saying it's time to let Ken Griffey Jr. go and that the Seattle Mariners should cut him. The Seattle Mariners have the second to last record in the entire Major Leagues. Ken Griffey Jr. has earned the right to not be cut. He is the greatest player this franchise has ever had and the way the Mariners are headed he will be the only Mariner to ever be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. If the Seattle Mariner's front office ever considers actually cutting Junior during the season then he should be the last of at least 10 cuts made. The Seattle Mariners are so bad that if Junior is cut it is a sign of complete disrespect. The second basemen, first basemen, short stop, catcher, and left fielder are doing nearly, if not just as bad as Ken Griffey Jr. is this season. Once the Mariners release every catcher in their farm system (Rob Johnson, Adam Moore, etc etc), Milton Bradley, Jack Wilson, Chone Figgins, Casey Cotchmen, Josh Wilson, Ryan Langerhans, as well as everyone else who will never amount to a professional baseball player found on a playoff team let alone a world series winning team. The Mariners clearly have nothing to lose by keeping Griffey on the team to finish the season because they've already lost everything and even with him gone they would still lose 90-100 games. THIS TEAM IS AWFUL!

Robin Thicke and B.o.B.
I've hoped on the Robin Thicke band wagon. His latest album Sex Therapy is very catchy might not be the greatest partying music but you can definitely do some dancing to it. The album has a great list of artist collaborations with Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and the Game. My favorite song is Meiple featuring Jay-Z, a close second is Shakin it 4 Daddy featuring Nicki Minaj.
Have you caught the B.o.B. fever yet? Look out it seems to be spreadin fast and is quite contagious. B.o.B. is most well known for the song Nothing on You but more songs are hitting the underground hip hop scene everyday. Much like Robin Thicke, his songs have some good collaborations including Lupe Fiasco, Eminem, Rivers Cuomo, and Haley William of Paramore. The Adventures of Bobby Ray... Get a hold of it sooner then later

3 Movies, 3 Songs, 3 Random...
So I'm a huge fan of movies, music, and mass media in general. Every now and then I'm planning on posting titles of some songs, movies, etc worth checking out. For this first post I thought I'd start with a couple classic films, maybe a film you haven't heard of, some underground hip hop, and 3 random things.
Movies:
-My first movie is North By Northwest, and Alfred Hitchcock flick involving a string of unfortunate events, bad luck, running from the law, and even a love story.
-Next up on the list is Paris When it Sizzles, interesting concept, a movie about making a movie and as a bonus it stars the stunning Audrey Hepburn.
-Third movie strays away from the classics previously listed. It's an indie titled Half Nelson starring Ryan Gosling as a school teacher with a drug problem.
Music:
-Song number one has a remix out there that is the anthem for this years world cup in South Africa. I however prefer the original; Wavin' Flag by K'naan:
-This next album actually came out ten years ago in 2000, the album as a whole is absolutely incredible battling his alter ego between good and evil over a thousand years from now here's 3030 by Deltron, check out the whole album titles Deltron 3030.
-The final song for this post is Teach Me How to Dougie by California Swag District. By now we all know how to Jerk, start your spring off with some Dougie.
Random:
-I'm not gonna post any links for this one but here are some things to look for in the near future.
-I'm a HUGE fan of the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers and on Sunday, March 14th,the new HBO miniseries The Pacific premiers, be there to watch it, I expect nothing but phenomenal.
-Second is the movie Repo Man, the unique plot alone is worth going to see this futuristic film.
-Third is for this week alone the first week of March it may be worth while trying to watch and NHL game or two as the players could have some built up frustration from the olympics where they were not allowed to fight.
Quick shout out to all the US Olympic athletes congrats you repped the nation well. I hope people will check out my suggestions in this post

Oregon Football Program
Ok so I've now joined the blogging community. The purpose of my blogs are going to be getting my opinion out there. Issues in sports could be a very common topic of mine. With that said what better way to start off a blog than by talking about the problems going on with a hated rival football team known as the Oregon Ducks. I wish I could say I'm surprised or appalled by all the criminal acts or other uncalled for acts that have occurred lately. The truth is I bet nobody in Oregon cares one bit it's not like this hasn't previously happened. A few years ago the professional basketball was referred to as the Portland Jailblazers for all the issues those players had. I believe too much blame is being put on the head coach, granted some the coach should shoulder a good portion of it but when are the fans going to be the one's that are blamed? It is clear that they do not feel this is a major issue especially if the teams are reaching bowl games or playoffs. The fans do not question the judgement of character of the athletes and by doing so they are setting the social tone as to what is acceptable and what is not. Representing your school and wearing their jersey's should be an honor and a privilege and the athletes are treating it with no respect because their fellow students or alumni could care less about the players actions off the field as long as they play well on Saturday. The first step is to either have the coach punish or dismiss the player and follow through with it for everyone or fire the head coach and bring in someone with the guts to clean up your team. The rest falls on the fans on whether or not they will continue to accept these kinds of athletes or if they will finally say enough is enough this needs to change
With that said go dawgs,
Alex Suryan
